"When the pandemic happened, returning home so abruptly was difficult, the holidays had not yet arrived, I had not yet said goodbye to my classmates and teachers, there were still many things to experience. Returning home and seeing how little by little they gave less hope of returning to normal made me sad and filled me with helplessness.
The rest of the 2019-2020 semester was very lonely since we only sent assignments for the subjects. Of course, the teachers were always looking out for us: their students. That routine helped me be self-taught and have a commitment to myself, because although I didn't see my teachers, I knew there was an obligation.
Then came video calls and with them a feeling of company.
Like many other people, I was overcome by negativity and anger; I didn't want to finish high school that way. However, in that process words of support from teachers who embraced the values of their profession kept me going.
The school helped me defend the characteristics of a Social Worker. With their help and coordination we found a way to not sit idly by (academically speaking), we were able to continue with our training and intervene in our reality, getting involved with the world in a different way, one from a distance. Without the school and the teachers, I feel that I would not have been aware of the many realities that were born and reinforced by the Pandemic, such as inequality, privileges and the importance of mental health.
In short: the school, teachers and nuns supported me from a distance, and although I could no longer return to his Institution, I take the memory and gratitude with me."
